Super Kawaii Happy Maneki Neko May Giveaway

My sweet kitty has inspired this month's giveaway: Maneki Neko! Yatta!

Maneki Neko's are also known as Beckoning Cats, Lucky Cats, Money Cats, Welcoming Cats, and Fortune Cats. They are believed to bring good luck to the owner and I have heard that they're considered even more so when received as a gift. I'm just sayin' ;)

Because our gestures differ many Westerners think that Maneki Nekos are waving when in actuality they are beckoning, as in "Come here!". Generally the left paw up beckons customers, while the right paw up beckons wealth and good luck. Traditionally Maneki Nekos were made to resemble Japanese Bobtail cats - white, orange, black calicos with kawaii nubby tails - but now come in many colors, each having a different meaning (see my definitions list here).

Okay I could ramble on forever about Maneki Nekos but I'll get on with the giveaway instead!

Review: SacredOak.Etsy.com

You might remember a while back I won first place in the Etsy Dark Team's design contest for business cards and 3rd place for flyers. Well one of my prizes was from SacredOak! Not only did I get to chose my favorite color, red, but I also got to choose a couple of my favorite scents, Rain & Night Queen. I received a red Rain scented candle, a bar of red Night Queen soap, 2 Rain sea salts, Dragon's Blood sea salts, Black Opium sea salts & a specially blended bath tea.

As you can see there's more than just the scents I chose and I'm glad there are, it all smells wonderful! Also SacredOak was so understanding of my allergies and made a wonder bath tea for me that I can't wait to try. It's even labeled "Maya's Special Bath Tea"! So sweet.

The package was sent Priority so it got here super quick (much faster than my review by far. Bad, Static!) and everything was wonderfully packaged and well secured. SacredOak's shop is a definite must for any browse & buy day!

Review: Sneddonia.Etsy.com & DarkSideSoap.Etsy.com

Did you know you can have 364 days worth of UnBirthdays? I'm on an UnBirthday streak apparently because I got a lovely piece of art from Sneddonia in the form of a beaded copper wire bat:

That's going right in my workroom window! It got here pretty quick too (UK to US). She also sent me some business card held together with a wire bow. Nice touch.

As for DarkSideSoap, let me tell you, these soaps smell delicious! Almost good enough to eat! Which I really wouldn't suggest unless you want flashbacks of getting your mouth washed out for talking back to your momma or granny. Uh yeah. So! DarkSideSoap was kind of enough to send me some off-cut soaps to sample or giveaway. Well I'm definitely keeping his latest soap, Spellbound Woods (yum!), but there are 3 others which I've decided to share. Or at least one of them anyway LOL Yes, they're that good! So keep reading and watch for DarkSideSoap. You'll be missing out if you don't.

Package #2 of my UnBirthday (yes, I've decided it was my UnBirthday) was from MrsEvils. She had a haiku contest which I didn't win but she was sweet enough to send goodies out to everyone!

I had to chuckle about the pocket mirror since I had just sent out a package to her that, unbeknownst to her, had my one and only Scrap Bat pocket mirror! I love MrsEvils' promo, it coordinates perfectly and is so very much her.

The brain soap is by the way of AgonysDecay. Mmmm brains. And there are actually multiples of the cards & magnets because this was also a promo swap, so I can share the love!

EtsyDarkTeam - for the Men!

We do have men on the EtsyDarkTeam, even if they are out numbered about 20 to 1, lucky devils! And the women on the team know how to dress their men right. Here are some of my favorites. Oh and I'm not saying wear this all at once! It's just some lovely choices for our handsome men.

First we need to hose 'em down and scrub 'em up with My Goodness, It's Guineshhhh. 

This soap is made by one of our elusive men of the team, DarkSideSoap. Not only will our guys be happy it's made with "Guinneshhhh" but we'll be happy because our men won't stink after a hard day of work (or playing video games).

Next, we can give that plain black tee & jeans that little extra dark spark with the Rib Cage necklace from KatzKlawz.
