Hello my lovelies, here is something I wrote up to help out my team mates on the EtsyDarkTeam and now I thought I'd share one of my posting sekrits here. Just a couple of the many things I do to try to keep my posts consistent and neat looking. By no means is this a "must do" for you. I just thought I'd put these up for those of you who are as... particular, yeah particular, as I am about it ;)

I'm sure you've noticed that some blogs do not like Etsyminis, they eat the formatting. Here is a little something for a clean looking Etsymini on Myspace! Etsyminis on LJ & Blogger are in another post.

Note: Areas you need to replace with your shop info is in red & CAPS.

Myspace Layouts:

I ran into issues recently (June 2011) with the newer Myspace layout since they changed what they accept as code YET again *sigh*. I found that using centering on the text portions work fine but the object, the Etsymini itself, refuses to budge no matter what I tried. So, with a little experimenting I found that 5 columns fit perfectly into the wider sections of the new Myspace layout. If you are using the narrower sections of the Myspace layout for your Etsymini try using the 3 column Etsymini code below. That *should* work. In theory :)

Myspace & EtsyMinis Headache

Myspace has stirred up their html again. What worked at the end of July no longer works (surprise, surprise) so I have made some changes/additions to my original "EtsyMini 101 - Myspace" post. Here is the link for your convenience:

I, on the other hand, had to learn it the hard way! I went to use the codes I've been using for months and everything borked on me. *Sigh* But it's pretty now. It. Is. Pretty.

Etsymini 101: Livejournal & Blogger

Ok back to the Etsyminis.

Myspace is the the biggest pain in the rear when it comes to the Etsyminis, Livejournal is not so bad, and Blogger is by far the easiest to work with!

On Livejournal I use a bigger EtsyMini because the average page format is much wider. Also there are communities solely for selling so the size won't much matter unless you're hogging 1/2 the page :p
Now LJ is finicky, so this may not always work correctly but it's a 100x better than what you will get than just copy&pasting from Etsy. Also the ones Etsy gives you will show up in Firefox but not IE!

Ok below is for a 4 column, 4 row Etsymini for LJ.:

Blogger is a similar situation to LJ. A 5 column Etsymini on Blogger is generally too wide, go with a 4x4 if you want to go big. But the good thing is you can copy&paste straight from Etsy ~or~ you can use the LJ version above just fine!

It's more likely to get you noticed & appreciated rather than just another number on the "friend" list. At least, that's my opinion ;):

Review: Custom Cranium / DeadThingsGrrl.Etsy.com

This little guy is Florian from Custom Cranium (DeadThingsGrrl.Etsy.com) and was everything I'd hoped he would be from the pictures in the listing!

As the description said, " Fluffiest Snuff Stuffy EVAR!" I got quite a deal considering this item was handmade with recycled stuffed animal body and professionally prepared animal skull and tail. Not to mention, the custom etched shot glass with a drawing of Florian and the shop name that was an extra little gift from this seller. Everything was sent via Priority mail and packaged with lots of padding around the dolls head and shotglass. You can tell this seller takes great strides to send everything so that it arrives flawless and in a timely manner.

I have since been back for more and definitely will again!

DIYScene Team September Swap - Pt.2

I received a nice little surprise from Canada this afternoon, my secret swap package!

I didn't recognize the real name of the sender of course, in this day and age of usernames, but I opened to find it was from Daddysgirl/GlamGrenade! Here's what I found inside:

A red hand stamped bat scarf, pumpkin bell earrings, candy, toy bones, spider clutch purse with a big fat spider on it(!), skull fabric, art cover mini notebook, witch finger puppet, a Frankenstein & bats scrapbooking pieces!

The scarf is quite warm and snuggly, made of a sweatshirt type material but without the fuzz. Great for people like me who want to sneeze every time they pull a sweatshirt over their head. The clutch will hold all my makeup and then some. It also has a strap that I can clip on and off, put my keys on and generally keep me from losing my purse! Excellent.
