Create 365 - Day 191 & 192

Okay, lots of stops and starts this past week. I have also just started studying for what hopefully will be a new (additional) career. Unfortunately, since I've been trying to figure out what works best in getting both studying and sewing done, I have only finished two days worth of 365-worthy stuff. The good news is that I think I've figured out how not to exhaust or stress myself out doing both.

Anywho, now for the good stuff. This cutie pie was a test doll to work out the kinks of what I have in mine for my gaggle of nieces this Christmas. I customized it to my taste since I'm keeping it. Here is my 13" tall Cutie Vamp Doll.

The ones for my nieces will not have fangs or bat dresses but you get the idea. The next ones will be twice as large, and will be fleece where this one is felt for the most part. They'll also be all machine stitched except for detailed bits. I'd never finish if I had to sew them all by hand!

This is counting as two days because the doll body was done one day and the dress was redrafted and sewn the next available stitchy day.

Well, time for me to get studying! Yay?

Create 365 - Day 137

A wee Cthulhu! Aww, isn't he just a cutie? I actually meant to make him a bit bigger but I flubbed the measurements before I reprinted my mini pattern. I didn't notice until I had already started cutting and decided to just roll with it. I can always make a bigger one later. This one is about 7" tall with semi-poseable arms.

I still feel he needs a little something-something though. Aside from his wings which are drying on the table in front of him. Any suggestions?

Create 365 - Day 105

For a hot minute I thought I wouldn't have anything to post for today and I wasn't even feeling up to even folding origami. Damn it, weather and allergies, stop messing with me.

I did get the final touches on the chibi doll I was working on and just I got the go ahead to post a pic. Yay!

This is a custom ordered chibi version of Kayako Saeki, the mother ghost, from Ju-On. She has a reverse applique open mouth, hand stitched eyes and back part of hair, hand painted and splattered "blood", also hand painted bags around the eyes which are a little hard to see here. I am so glad the outfit worked out too because I totally winged it on the nightdress and matching panties.
She is finally ready to go to her new home and stop freaking me the hell out. Creepy damn doll, if I do say so myself.

Note to self: Never work on something like this again, late a night, when everyone but you is asleep. O_O

Create 365 - Day 103

I'm feeling a little Halloween-y today so I stitched up an Orange Batling with sparkly Black wings and Golden Yellow glass eyes.

This one's got a bit of an underbite but it can still nibble your fingers and toes just fine! Not really. Or, could it?

Create 365 - Day 102

Here's that sleepy, little, pink-eyed Owl's brother.

He's definitely not your typical Night Owl, he doesn't mind being woken up as long as he gets to go back to sleep shortly there after. Or, if you give him cake. He really likes chocolate cake.

Create 365 - Day 100

Woo, 100!

What did I make today? Why, miniature panties of course. Oh, and a matching dress. I'm actually posting a picture today because I realized no one is going to know what the heck this is until it's done. So, here is some headless doll booty!

Headless doll booty. Never thought you'd read that, am I right? You're welcome. ;) She does have a head, it just happens to be elsewhere at the moment. I'll have to come up with something else to show for tomorrow because this is the last you'll see of her until she's done.

Create 365 - Day 99

I won the fabric battle with the chibi doll I'm working on, yeah! After all the fussing and fighting it turned out nicely. Don't think I'll be using that fabric again for dolls though, at least not for the body. Now to whip up some clothes for this creepy little thing.

Since this one is still under wraps, here is an origami crane.

I can't believe I don't already have one in the collection but I double checked and not a one is to be found. Strange, maybe it flew away.

Time for the sleepings. xx ~Static

Create 365 - Day 98

Still working on the same doll. I should have just changed the type of fabric I was using for the body, but no, I have to be my usual stubborn self. The head looks good but I'm won't know about the body until I turn it and begin to stuff it. Which I'll save for dealing with after I've gotten some sleep.

Here's proof it really does exist. It's only a sneak peek, sorry.

And, here's some filling and somewhat healthy oatmeal muffins. The darker ones were baked with honey on top, the lighter ones without.

Create 365 - Day 92

Two chibi dolls are done and ready to go to their new home. Meet chibi-Jonny Craig & chibi-Vic Fuentes!

"Hey, Jonny! What's up?"
"Ah, you know, touring and dodging screaming fangirls. You, Vic?"
"Yup, same old, same old."

I'll have better pics later when I'm slightly more awake and sure to have the camera in focus.

Create 365 - Day 91

It's alive! Okay, not really, but it is finished. May I present to you chibi Jonny.

Now to finish up his buddy Vic.

I'm pretty tired so this post is short and sweet. See you on the flip side.

Create 365 - Day 90

So, not ever day is perfect and I sometimes make mistakes. Thankfully, I caught this one little mistake before I finished the face. Can you see it?

The correct (second) head is on the right. I had the one on the left fully stuffed, sewn on and everything! Then I realized his chin was "skin" when he's supposed to have one of those goatee/beard sort of things going on. *Facepalm* So, off with his head and a new one was made.

He will be finished tomorrow! Until then, here is an origami rooster.

Create 365 - Day 89

After attacking my stove in a manic bout of Spring cleaning I made headway on the two chibis. Amazing what a little determined scrubbing can do to a 12yr old oven. Shiny. But, enough about that.

I also made an origami seahorse.

And, then promptly fell asleep on the couch before posting. Teehee.

Create 365 - Day 88

The chibi boys are coming along nicely. I would have gotten farther along but the cats decided to sing us the songs of their people on and off all last night. Plus, we had company today that instigated a non-stop Gears of War marathon. A very loud and distracting one. When you're already tired it doesn't help much in the creative works, at least not for me. No bigs.

So, here is an origami dinasaur (raptor, maybe?)...

...and headless chibi bodies *buhuhahaha*. Ahem.

Nite! xx ~Static

Create 365 - Day 86

I didn't get a ton of sewing done today thanks to the epic battle with my slightly ancient (but awesome!) sewing machine. The hubby was kind enough to brave Wallyworld on his way home to grab me some much needed machine oil.

I have managed to finish one, of two, pair of chibi skinny jeans and the JAWS applique for one of the shirts though.

Other than that I've been fray-checking, trimming seams, pinning, and basically doing everything but machine sewing. We shall see if princess Pfaff will now cooperate since she has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled.

Create 365 - Day 84

Cutting, cutting and more cutting. There are piles of chibi parts everywhere!

Okay, maybe not everywhere but I do seem to have the beginnings of another small army. A platoon in my plush army of doooooom!

I may have had a little too much sugar today.

The origami diagram for the blue birds can be found here. They can be done with a triangle of paper or a square folded in half, definitely bigger paper than 3" for the latter though.

Alright, I'm off for the night. I've got lots of stitching to do tomorrow. (And, more candy to eat *buhuhahaha*!) xx ~Static

Create 365 - Day 57

Ahh, so happy to be able to sew without a hazmat suit. My head is clear...ish. Well, as clear as it gets. I'm finally almost completely caught up on the custom work I had piled up before I got the plague. That's what I get for playing with the plague monkeys, but they're just so darn cute! Granted I was able to finish a few smaller things between sanitizing dips just not as much, or as creative, as I would have liked. Although, I must say Grumpy Kitten Plush is a cutie pie.

Right now there is a tiny naked person on my sewing table, the last of the current round of custom work, and this disturbs me a little. I better hurry up and finish their clothes. And, since I can't post the little flasher just yet here's another Grumpy Cat Keychain Charm.

  DSC06293

Yeah I know, not terribly exciting but it's what people keep ordering so there it is. I also made a batch of pumpkin muffins because pumpkin muffins are friggin delicious and I needed to use up my pumpkin smush before it started growing not-tasty things.

Create 365 - Day 53

I've been working on all sorts of things today that I can't really post about like patterns and custom designs . No fair, I know. Also photo edits, listings and other things on the "boring" side of my business.

All I can give you today is a tiny peek at a couple things I'm working on simultaneously and a neat little origami dragon (follow the link to try it yourself).

I'll have to try this origami dragon again sometime. I'm not *quite* happy with the bottom jaw. Still, not an easy fold and only 3.5" long when finished. I like it.

Create 365 - Day 51 & 52

I'm back, batlings! The last few days have been... something. I'm still not 100% but definitely feeling functional, so to pick up where I left off in my 365, here is the proof:

Day 51 (Feb 28th)

Greyson Zoolander Derptastic the Third is not sure what he thinks of our newest kitty. Grumpy Kitten obviously could care less. [NFS, mine!]

Day 52 (Mar 1st)

Yes, another Grumpy Kitten Plush! This one was feeling a bit sullen and decided to have a lie-down. Still, isn't she adorable with her hand stitched face and giant kittenish ears? She is approximately 10" tall (ears to toes) with a 7" arm span.

She's already reserved but I'll be making more so keep your pantaloons on. I've got custom orders that have been waiting for me to get well enough to finish them. Those come first.

Not sure how people who do a continuous, unbroken 365 manage it. Life just loves to throw random monkey wrenches into the works. But, this is my 365, with my "rules", so I'm just going to keep on keeping on!

Create 365 - Day 49

Double trouble! Finally finished these two guys...

Jonny Craig chibi dolls in their dermal pierced and "tattooed" (embroidered) glory. One in a grey tee and one in a white tee so they can be told apart.

Up next, more (but different) chibis!

Create 365 - Day 48

You know when you just have one of those days where you get an idea in your head, try it out and... it bombs. Yeah. Anywho, once I got that disaster out of my noggin I finish one of two chibi dolls. Yay!

Totally made up for my fail from this morning. I'll have full sized pics once the second on is done and approved.
