Create 365 - Day 171

My dahlias are starting to bloom! The only thing that irks me about gardening is fighting with the bugs and slugs. They need to stop eating my plants. Or else. The best thing I've found so far for the bugs is Neem oil and the slugs don't like coffee grounds, but the dahlias do.

Anywho, since I'm so tickled about my dahlia plants I made another Swirl Dahlia Barrette.

Golden Yellow, Burgundy & Turquoise. Apx 4.5" wide on a 2" French barrette. The color combo was inspired by the color scheme of a favorite blog, Kisses and Chaos, written by the enchanting Miss Alli Woods Frederick.

Create 365 - Day 102

Here's that sleepy, little, pink-eyed Owl's brother.

He's definitely not your typical Night Owl, he doesn't mind being woken up as long as he gets to go back to sleep shortly there after. Or, if you give him cake. He really likes chocolate cake.

Create 365 - Day 56

Once again, so much I can't post yet and a few things being worked on at the same time.

Above is a pile of patterns in envelopes to keep their small pieces from wandering off, a couple of Black & White Grumpy Cats waiting to be sewn, and an origami butterfly (apx 2.5" at the widest). Other pieces off-camera and wailing for my attention.

I seem to be doing things in pairs lately. Here's a friend for the Red & Yellow Dragon, a Grey & Purple one.

When I get them to the light tent for a better photo shoot you'll get to see the cute little tails.

Here's that Black Snake I mentioned in my previous post. Isn't it just precious?

 

These little critters are pretty shy and don't like to bite since people don't taste very good to them anyway. They'll snuggle up to you for warmth just fine though.

Another spooky cute critter for Valentine's Day, a sweet little blue-eyed VooDoll!

Create 365 - Day 14

The one thing I did from scratch, start to finish, today was bake chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Nom! Unfortunately, I have no pic of them because the almost 2 dozen of them have disappeared. Not into my gut! I only ate 4... or, was it 5?

So, instead, here is a pic of what I'm currently working on, the chibi doll. I also painted the ZomBunny with "blood". She's off to Canada soon and wanted a pic with her semi-complete friend. They bonded over missing parts, go figure.

This little sweet little aquatic lass was brought about by a suggestion from lovely Renae Marie of AlternateVisions.

I think she may need a starfish in her hair or something similar. I'll think about it tomorrow, tonight I must begin a custom chibi doll!

I made another Valentine Batling for a trade (the other one sold!) and tried to make a chibi voodoo doll.

I'm not totally pleased with the voodoo doll though. I need to think about it some more. Maybe different colors? Hmm...

Overlord of all he surveys! Which is honestly not much from his thready perch but he seems fine with it.

Inspired by the colors of Nadja's Robot ♥.

Be on the lookout for him in my shop. This cutey will come on a ballchain so you can put him on your keyring, have him ride along on your bag strap, or just hang around as an adorable ornament.

Chibi Jonny for Erin

The awesome artist/writer lurking behind the e-shop Somnambulant and the Oh Honestly, Erin blog asked if I could make her a Jonny Craig chibi doll.

Now, if you're a reader of Oh Honestly, Erin you know how much her babydaddy, Henry, loathes all mention of Jonny Craig. Who would pass up a chance to help further the annoyance of Henry and create a plush of the soulless ginger crooner? Not I, challenge accepted!

So it begins...

  
Oooh, he's nekkid! Good thing he's a smoothie. The doll, not the person. Well, I don't personally know about the person so let's just roll with the assumption that he does in fact have genitals. Moving on!

Finally got some pants on the guy!

The face has a dermal implant under one eye -- I literally made a dermal for the doll out of a flathead straight pin which announced it disapproval of being bent all to hell by stabbing me repeatedly until I wizened up enough to cut the pointy part off. Genius, I tell ya.
There's a teardrop and heart (embroidered) tattoo under the other eye. To give you an idea of scale, the teardrop is just under a 1/4" in height. Tiny!

And, finally, what you've been waiting for with bated breath...

The finished chibi Jonny Craig doll! (You thought I was going to make you wait, didn't you?) He's happy to finally have his clothes on and head attached. Now he's just chillin' waiting for his lady to take him home.

Soul Windows...

You know when you buy things for yourself but then months later realize I'm never going to get around to using that (because your "to do" is a mile long most likely) but it's so awesome? Yeah, I used to do that a LOT and still do occasionally. But, thankfully, I have a cute little Supply & Destash shop over on Etsy to share it all with you!
